Yesterday I decided it was time to do some pruning in the garden we live on just under an acre surrounded by trees and mostly natives on our property we are lucky that it doesn’t take a great deal to keep it looking beautiful with gloves and boots on into the garden I venture.
After about an hour, along came our postman so I thought I would walk up and retrieve the mail. Then there it was one very long Python crossing our driveway, in our six years here this is the first snake I have come across! I decided to go and get my camera to take a few photos. By the time I came back it was making its way towards a small tree....after showing my family the photos, with most comments being OMG how brave you were to stay there and take them........I had to come clean and admit I had my mega zoom lens on........and believe me I felt very nervous every time it moved!! I had a rest from the gardening today......just to give it a little bit of time to find its way back to its real home!!!!! I hope! What’s the worst thing you have found in the garden, please share it here!

Thankfully Wendy I have never come face to face with a snake...I don't know what I would do if I did.
The worst thing for me when gardening is slugs and warms..I dispise things that don't have legs...give me a spider any day :)

opps 'worms'
Ah yes, OMG! Wendy, you are brave... even with a zoom lens :o/ I think I would freak right out if I had a snake in my yard. He is actually rather pretty, in a snake like kind of way. But oh my, I do hope he finds his way back into the bush now. Always check your boots before putting them on Wendy... I'm sure you know that! :o) xo
You must be a brave woman Wendy. I would have been inside with the door shut tight and my feet up around my head.
PS. Oh I forgot. Great photos though.
Even if you had a mega zooms lens on.... I can’t believe you took those shots Wen...Unreal size python..I wonder what he eats?? Ha
The worst thing I have found in my garden is a weed...wellll...I thought it was a weed until my husband wondered where the winter rose went that he had planted....ooops...
What a beautiful creature the Python is. Look how long he is and coloured to perfection. He could camouflage into whatever back ground he wanted too.
The worst thing Wendy that I have found in my garden, is a blue tongue lizard. I don’t know who got the biggest fright.
Eeekkk!! I've found missing glass ware (as you do with children) but nothing so scary!! OMG, i would have freaked out. You are so brave, so apart from having a huge palm frond come cracking down on top of me in Darwin, i'm lucky?? Love Posie
wow. it's HUGE. beautiful shots.
